Hey Chris.

I ride frequently on moustache bars which are not the same as albatross'
(A-bars) but have some similar traits.  If you are very happy on the hoods
now, I would put the A-bars where your hands fall near the front curves but
not at the very front.  I find I use the very front mostly for wind or max
speed (all relative on my lowish geared fixie).  If you make the farthest
curve your hood equivalent, you will not have anything more stretched out.
A-bars reach WAY back, so I think you really want to optimize the more
forward positions and maybe even trim the ends a bit.  Here are a couple
