Ken:

Thanks for the FD spec. I'll check that one out. Funny, on yesterdays So
Cal Riv ride, at least 3 guys were kicking themselves for not beating you to
that bike.

As to Riv doing a Silver FD, it'll probably be a long wait. I recall an
article where they say the FD is the least necessary component on the bike.
Something like "if someone said give up a component or else" the FD was the
one you'd miss least. So they don't have much interest there.

Enjoy the ride.

I think I owe most of the credit for the quick commitment to my VERY
understanding wife. I called her just after 6am as soon as I got to
work to make sure I did not have to back out of my commitment to buy
the bike. Furthermore, she understood just how badly that I wanted
it, enough to chase down the FedEx delivery man on Good Friday at the
FedEx terminal to PICK-UP the package because we had missed the
delivery! She's not interested in riding, so I think my next purchase
will have to be at the jewelry store ;)

I'm a self-admitted "bag-matcher." (The first step to recovery is
admitting that one has a problem, right?) I thought about matching bar-
tape to the saddle, but the saddle is really reserved for another
upcoming project so I am simply using the honey for the time-being on
the Atlantis. I have a nicely aging honey B17 TI on my Rivendell All-
Rounder. Variety is the spice of life, so I thought that I might just
try something different.

The front deraileur is a FD-5504. Ideally, it would be adjusted
lower. FWIW, I think that the next "Silver" branded component should
be a front deraileur compatible with smaller front rings and low BB
drop! Talk about a niche product?!
