That is an imperfect Altocumulus Standing Lenticular (ACSL), an
indicator of mountain waves in stable conditons, strong gradient winds
aloft, and turbulence; sometimes a precursor of an approaching storm.

Riv content: my Road Custom is a pleasure to ride in the buffeting
gusty afternoon winds associated with ACSL conditions, better than any
other bike I have ridden.
