Just pre-road the second pass over the Pisgaw Peak saddle: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cyclotourist/sets/72157617914264630/
Weather is projected to be very similar to today, and it was not a factor in the ride. The ride as planned is 35 miles, but can be cut down to about 25, or expanded to 50 based on consensus. I rode it with 43mm (actual) Marathons instead of 37mm (actual) Paselas today, and the extra bit of rubber made a difference. No gnarly stuff, just crushed rock and some sand pits. Jack Browns or wider would be a good thing. 2.35" 29ers would be a bit unnecessary. Email me, RBW group, or check out the flickr page for more info!!!
