I have collected quite a collection of very nice Merino wool pullovers, lightweight and long sleeved, from my local Goodwills -- less than $5 each, and in an assortment of attractive colors. I collected so many that last year I gave away five or six and I still have close to a dozen left. Even if you can't shop at such an exclusive chain, you might look in your local department stores for these things. Many are Italian, but I forget all the brand names. I have button and zip plaquets as well as crewnecks and turtlenecks. They are my sole cold weather riding tops.
