Huh, thorn catchers, wire or leather, hold up very well to NM goatheads, and we're goathead capital of the Cosmos. IMO, the Quickbeam won't come into its own until it can handle 65 mm tires with room for fenders. Patrick Moore, riding 65 mm tires with fenders on his Monocog 29er. (You haven't ridden cushy and absorbent tires until your ride 65 actual BAs on 45 mm rims at 12/16 psi over concrete parking lot tire barriers and fist sized rocks. The next best thing to a Pugsley and without the huge Q factor -- my Monocog's is 150 mm with room to shrink a full cm. Nunna those pissant 50 mm tire, at rock hard, what, 20 to -- gasp! -- 30 psi pressures, for me!) > > > Patrick Moore Albuquerque, NM Professional Resumes.
