I would consider that an homage to the iconic Atlantis 2. This post-fixie city 
bike stuff looks to me like it is for a different market than Rivendell's fan 
base. I like the clearance on their bikes and the no-frills approach. With that 
angle it looks like they are also taking queues from Surly. I bet they are good 
bikes to the people who want one like this.
