Interesting observation about liking the 33 size for both level of cush and general handling on a 700c bike. I always felt to tall and not maneuverable enough on the 40mm+ tires I tried with the Atlantis but chalked it up to the frame being too big for me... 650x42mm does feel better to me ask around particularly on the Saluki that fits me so well.
