Why would chainline and Q be affected? The only downside I see is the need
for a hard to get spindle, but, get that spindle and the rings ought to be
where they need to be, and the Q ought to be fine since Q is determined far
more by arm angle than by spindle length. The Q on the mtb with the  145 mm
Phil was only 160.

The other disadvantage is the narrow gap between outer ring and crank arm,
making some wider, modern fds difficult to adjust properly, though I think
this gap was increased in later editions of the crankset.
