98F in the shade, that's the report. Additionally, it was a great day in LA. For CicLAvia, the City of Los Angeles blocks off around 10 miles of streets to motor vehicles and 100,000 people come out to celebrate! Happens two to three times a year and is always fun! This one didn't seem to be as well attended, I'm hoping it was just the heat and not a complacency thing. It is LA after all...
I rode my new to me Quickbeam. It was geared at 38X18 and was pretty much perfect for cruising throughout the day. Took the boy and he had a blast, although tired out now! For bikes, I think the most common one would be a circa 1984 Centurion with a rusty chain. A little bit of everything of course. Plenty of crabon, LOTS of beach cruisers. One MB-Zip, and a woman asking me about Rivendells, saying she would love to have a Betty Foy. I directed her here, telling her that there is one listed FS right now!
