A nice thing about working for yourself is that on a very nice winter day you can tae 2 hours off and go for a 19 mile dirt ride in the nearby bosque. I could have explored for several more hours, but work called, alas. The village of Corrales, some 5 miles due north of me along the same wooded area bracketing the Rio Grande that skirts my own neighborhood has miles of unpaved side roads and acequia trails that, while flat and generally straight, make up for the lack of topographical excitement by their simple, wooded beauty -- a beauty that stands out all the more in this high desert landscape.
