That's a big difference. I remember a blog entry from Grant awhile back where he mentioned shortening the grips. I think it was something to do with making more room available for the grip portion in front of the brake lever on the Bosco bar. I've got the originals which are still holding up. Did you try the new length and did you find it uncomfortable? - Frank
