That's strange Michael. I have a large Berthoud bag that I, too, bought from Boulder. It's just leather and cloth, like Steve said. The custom stiffener is some type of fiberboard. It's a trip-folded, three piece that goes across the bottom and up both sides and attaches to the top of the bag with velcro. Hmm. But the declarer holds just fine bolted through the leather and cloth.
