I know a number of new companies have begun producing what appear to be good, quality entry level steel bikes. (Isnt’ Grant on the board of one of them?). I have an acquaintance living in flat-landia interested in an errand/city/beach bike that is hearty and lower maintenance (thus single speed) and wondering what a few companies are I could send him to.
