According to a friend who wrenches professionally for professional race teams, the Hirame chuck is very, very good if you need to pump many tires at one go, day in and day out. He is very happy with his but has a word of caution for me: the chuck's rubber part wears out rather quickly and it is fairly difficult to find a replacement, even though the replacement is very cheap (like the Silca's). Certainly, a typical consumer's frequency of use is a fraction of a pro's; nevertheless, if you're getting a Hirame chuck, remember to get a few spares to go with it.
