With the discussions in this group pertaining to problems with Sigg
water bottles, I think it may be of interest that Rivendell is now
offering aluminum water bottles made by Laken (an old Spanish
company). These have never had bisphenol linings and are apparently
more easily available than Sigg.

As an aside I purchased a Laken 1 liter water bottle from REI as a
closeout item some time back. It happens that the squarish design
perfectly fits a "Randonneur" Ref. 218 water bottle cage made by T.A.
(long unavailable, this is not something commonly found but I own one
of these cages). I've been quite happy with the bottle, it's well
made and has a handy flip-top cover that protects the spout.

I also see that REI is currently offering the 750 ml Laken water
bottles, in various colors, as an overstocked item at reduced costs.
Here's a link to their website: http://www.rei.com/outlet/product/797542
(I obviously have no commercial connection, other than being an REI co-
op member!).
