FWIW, I've used V-brake pads on a couple of bike with center pull brakes. They are much long and have more surface area than the original block style pads. The braking is very good with them. I did switch the spacers on the brake pad posts, the spacer next to the pad is used on the outside and the outside spacer is used next to the pad. Good luck, JohnS
