Once a cop told me it was an 18% grade. So I wanted to see what it was
like. People sometimes come out there and time themselves on it. Sometimes
I see them with some kind of timing contraption on a tripod at the base and
the cops close the road for them.

First one was the 18% grade. I got up it in my 26 x gears. Would be
interesting to try to wheelie it the whole way one day to see if that makes
it easier than riding on two wheels (less rolling resistance?!?!?). Yeah,
right! Ha ha!

Second one, seemed longer but a little less steep. But still really steep.
26x gears. Stopped right before the top as mental willpower and legs were
blown by that time (.....need......more......willpower.....). Resumed
riding to top after brief standing rest. Cannot believe how weak I am
despite the riding I have done the last few years.

Same for the third hill.

Legs were shot after that for the last miles home. Even the easy rolling
terrain was hard with blown legs. I am so weak.

OK, Randonneurs can stop laughing at me now.
