I have the pletscher rack and wasn't wildly impressed with it. Seemed fine for
regular supportive use, but has a lot of moving parts that make me suspicious
about carrying a load over terrain. if it was me, I'd go with the daija or a
racktime for a solid budget rack. Or used nitto/tubus. I had the velo Orange
Constructeur rack at one point. Also fine for what it was-medium sized top
loads,
Hunq and clem specs are pretty similar and when i tour, I have small panniers
and a basket on a nitto big front rack. The back has a big-ish saddlebag. Never
had a low trail bike, but I have no complaints about a front heavy set up over
mixed terrain and hundreds of miles with the hunqapillar...though I'm told it
could be more comfortable.
My wife has the tiny clem proto and I put a Nitto mini on the front and a
racktime on the back (purchased off the list). The front rack has seen no
use....but it looks nice. The racktime is quite impressive for the cost, even
though it's aluminum
