Junk the singlespeed!!! I don't know if I'm ready for that. New England winters are unkind to derailleur bikes with lazy owners. I was sort of holding off on this decision until I see what the new Quickbeam...er Simpleton is like...March 2010 I hear? I hear it's going to be a dark red.
Agreed that the Hilsen and Hillborne are basically the same. Wheelsize, brakes and geometry aside, the bikes feel very similar. Reminds me of why I like my Hilsen. Speaking of odd hubs. The other thing I saw at the shop was a Betty Foy with an Alfine internal gear hub (and chain tensioner). Wish I'd taken a picture.
