I had some concerns when I was riding with Hetres (40mm or so, didn't give them a chance to stretch) and recently when I tried the 1.75" Pari Motos (actual 38/39mm). Mostly just brushing a shoe when I forgot going around tight corners, usually at a slow speed. With the VR Speedsters (actual 47mm) there really isn't a concern at all. I think I figured it's the same overall diameter as a 700x28c tire. David Chicago
