Reid, I agree that it is frustrating dealing with a presta valve without threads for the first time. However like most other things it gets easier- do I wish all still has threads yes does it save money for the manufacturer likely. Sometimes progress for profit leads us backwards. I am on my "final" pump ever, a Silca with a coupled head, which seems to handle every conceivable tube imaginable. That was my solution to years of frustration with various tubes and pumps. Best of luck hope other than the tube issue your wife loves her Clementine. Building my wife's up as well as I am 90% done with our move and the 1st Winter Storm Warning is hitting West Michigan.
