I've been using the Pearl Izumi winter lobster mitts down to -15C and felt
warm and dry. Below that, I use the same mitts put wear them inside a thin
gortex mitt. The mitt was a size L or XL, so there is lots of room for the
lobster mitts inside, plus a chemical warmer if things get real brutal. I
can ride all day in cold down to -40 without getting cold.

Like everything else, I've found layering to be the key. Many locals here
also swear by the nitrile glove as well, though I prefer finding a mitt
that breathes well enough to avoid the issue. I just hate the 'smarmy'
feeling inside the glove when you sweat. But they DO work, that's for sure.
Same goes for feet.
