Telephone... what's that?  I'll give that a try and try to get hold of
someone there!  :-)  My LBS made it quite clear they wanted nothing to do
with this.  Maybe I should have told them I was interested in a Madone in
order to get back into (serious) cycling...

So far, that's a real good lead.  I have had James Black (local-ish in L.A.
and runs the IGH Yahoo group) mentioned as a contact.  Also there's Aaron's
Bikes in Seattle which looks like they have a good handle on this and might
be a good help.  But $175 flat fee plus shipping both ways... well, it was
free, but I don't know how much I want to get put into this.  Hoping that
between James and Sram I'll get a heads up as to whether I get the missing
parts and if it's a DIY job.  I don't want to take the hub apart and
re-build it, but hope I can just get it going again in "good enough" shape
to make it through three kids in route to 26" bikes....
