Never having seen one of these, I'll offer a shot in the dark.  Back in the 
good old days (that pre-dates "back in the day") there existed industrial 
parts suppliers called "bearing houses".  They handled all kinds of 
bearings, industrial drive hardware (sprockets, chain, pulleys, belts, etc) 
to keep stuff running.  They usually had presses & maybe machining 
equipment and could remove & replace bearings from all manner of pumps, 
motors, etc.  If you find someplace like that locally, it's worth walking 
in with your BB to see if they can R&R the bearings.
