Will, That's a good point I hadn't thought of. It just so happens I used photos of my bike in front of the wall outside my house, so that works. But, I'm thinking even better would be to include a photo of yourself with the bike. Put that on bikeindex, and it's gonna be pretty hard to refute.
There have been multiple cases of bike shops checking bikeindex and recovering bikes when somebody sketchy brings in a bike. The real challenge is to get anybody who is purchasing a used bike to check bikeindex before they buy. In my dream world, where everybody does this, bike theft is drastically reduced because it's nearly impossible to sell a stolen bike.
