You mean the brown deer lying dead on the side of the road? I will assume 
that Clayton is kidding a bit here.

I like reflective vests, ankle straps (and/or pedal reflectors), and tape,  
and lights both day and night for the riding I do most these 
days--commuting, shopping, or towing my son. I have a big Riv triangle on 
the back of my Duimmy, my son and I wear yellow safety vests with 
reflective stripes, & I run battery flashing lights front and back during 
the day, steady at night (though sometimes a pulse at night if not 
generator). I don't give much truck to the whole "fixating" thing, not for 
the kind of urban/suburban rides I do at night, where you are competing 
with lots of other visual noise. I find a marked difference in, for 
instance, turning left in front of me when running the flash during the 
day. My latest USB front light also has a "night flash" setting, with a 
much less strobe-like pulse.
