Thank you all for such encouraging words and so happy to have you all enjoy the post. There is a sense of real community here.
I also hope that this post is a testament to adventure with little ones. Temper your mileage just a bit, relearn patience, and familiarize yourself with flexibility - it is all the more fun with a toddler in tow. Some additional route information for those that requested it: Joshua Tree Traverse <https://ridewithgps.com/routes/12187551> Point Reyes <https://ridewithgps.com/routes/12152252> Front seat is a Yepp Mini. Can't recommend it highly enough - great product for larger sized frames. On the JTNP traverse, I also towed a Chariot CX1 for more aggressive off roading and for naps. In Marin and elsewhere, I ditched the Chariot and we just took afternoon breaks when it was nap time for the little one. The rack bag on the Hunq is a Porcelain Rocket made bag commissioned and sold by Monkey Wrench Cycles in Nebraska. It really is fantastic, perfectly sized to fit in and work with either a large Wald basket or a Pass and Stow rack as I have on the Hunq. Cameras used are the Canon 5D and Fuji X100s.
