Some of you may be familiar with the UK firm Middleburn, which made some of the sexiest crankarms around and did a lot to promote the modular direct mount spider/chainring.
Unfortunately, Middleburn dropped the chain and closed the doors for good. http://theradavist.com/2016/08/middleburn-closes-shop/ I rarely (as in once) ever saw Middleburn cranks on bikes in the US, which made them all the more desirable! Their coke-bottle shaped crankarms are unmistakable in profile. Ah well, it's always a sad day when another small cycling industry firm closes the doors. Perhaps some enterprising up-and-comer will purchase the tooling/designs and bring them to market again on a widely available basis.
