I've been riding a Swift for the latter half of this year and for me - which
includes my riding style, position on the bike and, um, shape - I'm liking
it a little better than the B-17. For me, it feels between the B-17 and
Swallow in terms of position - I tend to roll my hips a little more forward
and so the narrow saddles work out a bit better on longer rides.

The B-17 is good on my commute rig (under 20 miles), but it feels a little
too wide if I'm in the drops for extended periods.

The Swifts which I've seen seem to have thicker leather than the B-17s, but
that is a nonscientific sample, to be sure.

As far as paying more for a "limited edition" stamp and color.... I'd be
hard pressed to do so. You might check around for a shoe repair place that
can dye the leather, if you really want a specific look - might work out
cheaper. (Don't know what kind of stain it might leave on fabric...) But,
saddles live an inglorious life, and are mostly covered while doing so.

hope that's of some help,

- Jim
