2009 had a lot of biking high points and a lot of simple day to day biking.
I didn't actually own a Riv until December 8th when my Quickbeam was
delivered, but that process really started much earlier in the year.

1) Rode a bicycle (not necessarily a Riv) daily all year. I missed very few
days and they were generally days I was on planes. I don't have a big
commute, but I probably ride 10 miles a day. Of course there are many days I
ride much more. Of course I live in Hawaii so the weather is pretty
cooperative. On trips I take a Bike Friday with me which explains riding
elsewhere.

2) March 2009 - Visited Rivendell and test rode some bikes and got my PBH
measured (I was attending an event in Oakland so I was in the neighborhood)

3) March 2009 - Rode from SF to Tiburon (same trip, different day)

4) March 2009 - Rode on the Iron Horse Trail from Dublin to Concord through
Walnut Creek (same trip, even a different day). I'd have ridden back but I
had a dinner to attend so I hopped on the BART to get back to Oakland.

5) November 2009 - Rode Las Vegas to Red Rock Canyon. Wow, that was lovely
if cold. It was 25 miles of slow climbing, followed by 25 miles of riding
into the wind on the way back. I never did get to coast. Sigh.

6) December 2009 - Received my Quickbeam!!!

7) December 2009 - Rode QB 60+ miles (Honolulu->Kapolei->Honolulu)

8) Several times during the year I rode Honolulu->Kailua->Honolulu (60+
miles)

On the whole it was a great cycling year. I managed to lose about 75 pounds
in the last 18 months as well, the bulk of it would be during 2009.

I don't keep track of miles or the amount of time I ride, but I'd guess I
rode over 100 miles week every week which, for me, is really quite
something.

In 2010 I'll be riding the Haleiwa Metric Century (on my QB I hope) as well
as cycling in L.A. and San Antonio. I also plan on continuing to ride
daily.

Aloha!
