Nice post and great pictures. I've had my hunqapillar for 2 and a half 
years and almost sold it one point, so glad I didn't. Wish I got as much 
mileage as you on that thing though! I agree with all of this. My 
hunqapillar is noticeably not as fast as my go fast road bike, but it is 
just as fast or faster than every other bike I've had the pleasure of 
riding including most other rivendell models and a few surlys and somas, 
and a rando style low trail bike. I also feel that I can't do technical 
singletrack on my hunqapillar like I can with my other mountain bike, but 
I've seen more capable riders do much better on it than me so the rider's 
ability definitely affects that. But the other 90% of riding it can't be 
beat.
