Assuming they'll look like my first-run clem, they are not smooth at all.  
There's a thickish bead, with visible and very evenly-spaced, overlapped 
"pools."  The wet paint is thicker than powdercoat, so the texture is not 
"rough," though -  it's just "relief."  

Is that what you're wondering?  They look very nice and strong, to me.  I still 
have a few tig welded, steel, boutique bikes from the '90s, with almost no 
visible bead.  Ibis, potts, etc.  They look neat, but i never understood how 
the joints stayed together.
