Well how 'bout that? Sam Hillborne reviews on "roadbikereview.com." I had no idea. http://www.roadbikereview.com/mfr/rivendell-bicycle-works/commuter-bike/PRD_440118_6514crx.aspx
I have a green Quickbeam, and I'm in agreement with everyone who's piped up. When people say "what a great old bike!" I often correct them, but I'd like to do it more gently. Last time it kind of damped the enthusiasm of the complimenter, which made me feel bad. I'd forgotten that the word "actually" actually means "you're wrong!" Self-consciousness - A Sam Hillborne is fairly understated and elegant, not flashy. Would I turn down a date with the smart, beautiful girl I really like, who has great style and is funny, because I thought everyone would stare? Hmm... I hope not. The Quickbeam used to have Speedblends and blue rims, which did make me a little self-conscious sometimes. Mostly people wanted to know where I got "those cool rims." Actually... they're tires?
