Peter H is a very close friend of mine. He and I have talked quite a bit about different ideas for his wife's new bike. Her expressed requirements for this new-to-her bike, which will replace a single speed road-style setup with too-low handlebars and too-skinny tires, are the following:
1. It's gotta be comfortable. 2. It's gotta have gears. Call me cheap, but I think he can find a bike, like this MB-3 on his local CL (https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/bik/6101414868.html), change out the stem and bars, maybe get some new tires, and he'd have a bike that would meet her very meager requirements and be geared, comfortable, and of course useful and fun for years to come for less than $350. It could probably be done for even less, but the above example was close at hand. Anybody have something like that around that isn't getting used much that would fit a 5'5" woman with an ~80cm PBH? Alternatively, am I silly for trying to tell my good buddy how to spend his money!? :) Bob K. in Baltimore -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
