At the outset, I should state, that I would not buy a bicycle with an 
electric motor.

I am not without experience in the world of electric vehicles (known as EVs 
in some circles). I think EVs are here to stay. I invested in Tesla. I 
currently drive a Nissan Leaf. I don't think a Leaf is realistic for more 
than a "go-to-the-grocery/around town car". I do not think eBikes have as 
much draw as EVs today. Possibly because so many people are terrified of 
entering traffic without their "cage" around them.
