Ditto Joe's comment about inserting some old cable scrap and then cutting
housing. Push out old with the new you're inserting.
Always results in perfectly clean cut, boom!
PS: Those Shimano cutters are also really nice. Ours is way beyond old and
still sharp as a tack!
