I rode south in May and had to bypass Big Sur by going inland through King 
City, Fort Hunter Liggett, Nacimiento, and Paso Robles on the way to Morro Bay. 
It’s a longer route with a lot of climbing and many sections with limited 
services, but it made for a great (if long) day on the bike.

If Big Sur is open next May when I do my coast ride again, I’ll go back to that
