$14 is so cheap that, if you get free shipping, you'll be hard pressed to
beat it at Good will where I got mine; I've seen them even cheaper online.

I'd get as small a one as can fit a coiled up chain just covered with
liquid, and with the pot removable from the heating element. In fact, I
keep meaning to replace my ~3 qt one with something smaller.

I make a hook out of an old spoke or coathangar, and insert it into one end
of the coiled chain before I put it into the pot; I make it long enough
that the other end of the hook, also hooked, can hook over the side of the
pot. And I just dump the coiled chain on the cold, solid wax and turn the
machine on and walk away for an hour or so; then swirl it a bit, fish it
out, let it drip, and then hang. (It's easier to do this if the pot is on
the floor.)

I've been wiping my chain while hot to remove the surface wax; Ron doesn't
wipe, and he uses a leather glove, I hear.

I didn't notice this with the Molten wax, but with regular paraffin the
residue that clings to and dries on the surfaces of the chain will flake
off in little dandruff flakes, which is why I wipe mine. The chain will
also be a bit stiff after it cools; that's not a problem, as reinstalling
it will limber it up.

Tell us how it works for your beach environment.
