My custom MAP has a connectionless SON. Quick release type. It does require a 
custom fork. The jury is still out on mine but I definitely love the ease of 
wheel removal, although my wired SON on the Hilsen is not a problem. It takes a 
second to make sure the wire connections are oriented correctly when changing 
the tire but it's not an issue at all. However, when very tired, while riding a 
brevet, it can be easy to forget there are connectors (at least for someone as 
dumb as me) and you can forget to disconnect/connect them. But a custom fork is 
required for the connectionless, no matter how you slice it.
