John I'm curious about your squealing CX-70 brakes. I use them on my Sam and have found them to be quiet, and the best functioning cantilevers I've ever used. Could it be your brake pads, or toe in perhaps? Having said this, I use Paul center pulls on another bike, and they are also fantastic.
