It rides really well. The third gear is direct drive, second is a 25% reduction and first gear is a 37.5% reduction. I have the low range gears set at 39/18. High range is a 42/15. Low range works really well for hilly terrain and offroad. High range is fantastic for flats. There is a bit of lag b/t pushing the cranks forward and backpedal but there has been more unnecessary hype about this than is warranted IMO. Having put a few miles on this thing and other 'true' fixies, I kind of like the lag b/c it sort of dampens the 'jolt' (for lack of a better adjective) b/t forward and backpedal.
I am selling b/c I only built it as a fun project to eventually sell. It was sort of a diversion from a camping bike I am building with a Surly LHT and I really need the funds from this one to finish the camper.
