You might consider the Panaracer T-Serve. It's the same tread as the Pasela but much more durable. It seems to offer a nice ride. I've ridden a fair amount of dirt on mine with no problems. As others have mentioned, Schwalbe offers some nice tires. I keep meaning to try the Kojacks and the Marathon Supremes.
A guy at my local bike shop has been riding Panaracer RiBoMo (or something like that) and he likes them a lot. They are big and round.
