Well conversions are great when you can go from < 700x28 with no chance for 
fenders to >650b x 33 with fenders. If you are still stuck with 28mm that 
is going to lower the bottom bracket alot and the ability to run fenders 
might not be worth the effort.  I'm not sure I would even bother with a 
conversion these days, given there are probably some great used 650b bikes 
or off the rack Soma's available for cheap.

I keep my conversion bike around for sentimental reasons more than because 
its a great 650b bike. For instance the Bleriot, San Marcos are better 
bikes in my world view.
