I've tried riding in woven, structured shirts, and dislike both aspects -- I find the woven cloth less comfortable than knit, and they bind when I lean forward on shoulders, armpits, and neck. The exception are my Hawaiian shirts, which I deliberately wear large, when they are not tucked in, but then I dislike the flapping in the inevitable wind. It's knits and stretch for me.
I found a wonderful, new Pendleton wool shirt in the thrift store and thought it might be just the thing for cool weather riding; nope, shoulders tight, sleeves rode up, neck restricted, so I reluctantly gave it away. Too bad that the RUSA jersey is special order (and I'd be out of place wearing one anyway, rather like wearing a World Champion jersey).
