OK, Patrick, Here's what their website says: *Made from a washable fabric stabilizer won't disintegrate like cardboard (bleh) or crack like plastic (yuck).* Either way I had issues with the brim absorbing stink during the summer. No amount of washing or white vinegar could remove it, unfortunately. Seems to work against the idea of having a wool cap to help mitigate stink. The Rothera brims don't seem to absorb odors, but are prone to creasing. It's always a trade-off, it seems.
