Ok, as a Roadeo owner, maybe I am not today's typical Riv owner. But, living in Northern CA and experiencing "goathead " season, I have finally found a solution to the problem. I finally tried "Tubeless" tires. What a revelation. I was using Compass 32 extralights and recently got 4 flats in 6 rides ( 3 goatheads and 1 radial tire wire ).Enough is enough. I bought a pair of Hutchison Sector 700x28 tubeless from Rex Cycles in Sacramento and the 28s ride better than the Compass 32 extralights and in 5 rides I haven't had a flat. Also. the tires, while riding and handling better than the Compass tires, the combo of tire and sealer is lighter than the tire and tube combo.I really think think this is the future of bike tires.
