Back when I worked at a shop in Redmond Washington we had a customer who had done all his research on the internet about all the parts he wanted for his bike. We ordered all the stuff & built it up according to his specs including, you guessed it, Chris King hubs. When he picked up his bike and test rode it in the parking lot, he was horrified at the noise. We told him "Yes, that's what Chris King hubs sound like. It's the sound of quality." We had to have him Google "Chris King noise" before he was convinced. "How do I fix it?" he asked. My advice was "don't coast" but he ultimately decided to sell the Chris King wheels and get another set of wheels with nice, quiet Shimano hubs.
