I wouldn't rule out the Rodeo for those uses, either, with it's clearance for 
fenders and reasonably fat tires.  I do rides like that on my Rambouillet all 
the time, running smaller tires than the Rodeo will fit...

Hard to beat the Hillbourne for the price, tho.
