I thought I'd jump back in about a month later to update with what I came up with. I had a DIY lift a tube in the back of my mind these past few weeks, and last week went to a hardware store for some lightbulbs and decided to stand around in there looking for things I could use to make a lift-a-tube. Well, a 90 degree PVC corner thing and some clamp-y things turned out to do the trick, and I now have a lift-a-tube. The usefulness is out of this world. I might just have to make one of these for all of my bikes!
